Gyula Castle

In 1403, King Zsigmond granted the Gyula manor to the Macsó ban János Maróti. With the extinction of the Maróti family, the territory became the property of king, Mátyás Hunyadi, who donated it to his son, János Corvin. After him, Beatrix Frangepán owned the castle and the estate, wife of János Corvin, daughter-in-law of King Matthias.

Castle Spa
The most famous spa in Békés county, in the neighborhood of the historic Gyulai castle, with a water surface of 5,000 sqm, on 8.4 hectares park. Almásy Castle
The Almásy Palace Visitor Center is located in the center of Gyula, opposite the castle, next to the Castle Spa. The life of the staff, invisible to history, has always been mysterious, but the Almásy palace in Gyula reveals these secrets. In addition to the colorful world of the life of lords who once lived in the building, the everyday life of the staff serving them is also presented here.

Erkel Ház

A házat az Erkel család 1808-1841 között lakta. The house was inhabited by the Erkel family between 1808-1841. The permanent exhibition includes all the rooms of Erkel's birthplace. Based on the original function of the building, its concept presents the life and work of Ferenc Erkel, as well as the relics related to him and his family, based on the duality of school and residential building.

Kohan Gallery
The painter György Kohán was born in Gyulavári. His talent soon became apparent: at the age of 16, he already had his pictures in the exhibition of the artistic society in Gyula. He studied in Budapest, then Paris and Rome, and finally returned home to Hungary. In his will, he donated 691 paintings and 2,215 graphics to the city of Gyula, some of which can be seen in the Gallery.
